Carleton House Sesame Seed Cookie
The Carleton House, Bonham, TX

Alicion Bed and Breakfast "I got this recipe from my Italian grandmother who gathered us all together this time of year to make all sorts of cookies. These were my favorite and guests always comment on how great they are, buttery and crunchy. I've made different versions of them with other nuts and flavors, but these always remind me of warm Holiday Memories!"

Bloomsbury Macaroons
Bloomsbury Inn, Camden, SC

Alicion Bed and Breakfast "This is a very easy, yet elegant cookie to make. Our guests love them because they are unique, more interesting than just a standard cookie. Plus, they lend themselves to most events and venues, for example add a chocolate kiss for Valentines Day or a bright red cherry for Christmas."

- Katherine Brown, Owner and innkeeper

Springerle
Timmermann House Bed & Breakfast, Aviston, IL

Springerle "This is an old German recipe made by pressing a mold onto rolled dough. The Springerle board used at the Timmermann House is about 125 years old. Guests seem to like them because of the history of the cookie itself. And if they like black licorice it is an added plus because the cookies are anise flavored. "

- Sandy Timmermann, Owner and innkeeper

Ginger Cream Cookies
The Victoria Inn Bed & Breakfast and Pavilion, Hampton, NH

Ginger Cream Cookies "As a young woman, my paternal grandmother worked as a kitchen helper at a religious retreat in southern Maine. Many of the handwritten recipes that she used throughout her life came from this facility, and I suspect that this may be one of them. Right after Thanksgiving a large container of her Ginger Creams would arrive at our home, followed a few days later by another, and then another. She would finish hers with shortening-based icing. Here at the Victoria Inn we use our signature Maple Glaze. In a small size they are great for a cookie tray, larger sizes make a seasonal Whoopie Pie. Enjoy!"

- Gary Olson, Baker at The Victoria Inn Bed & Breakfast and Pavilion
